About the Series

Over two millennia ago the heavens released Isin, God of the Elements, to the mortal realm. A colossal rock, sitting haplessly in a sea of relentless waves, was bestowed upon him. Together with his kin Oblikaron and Vicaden, the masters of life and death, he sculpted this precipice in his image. He gave it vigor and beauty, his fingertips like brushes swept across a blank canvas. Regions reflected the elements he wielded and over time so did the life which was created in them. Isinda was at peace, but even the gods have flaws. Oblikaron and Vicaden found themselves in a war which scarred the land and provided the mortals with an adverse discovery. They were shown how to hate, and thus came the invention of war.

Isin’s kin were banished and he fell into a deep slumber, refusing his heavenly duty to depart the mortal plane upon a land’s completion. Isinda: Fallen Dagger takes place over a millennium later. The old god’s were forgotten, and each of the six major races – Scaldor, Arikarnon, Suvrarian, Human, Sarnon and Deimor – claimed their own deities, or lack thereof. Isinda evolved into a land defined by war. The races grew to detest each other and even themselves as some were divided. History was written with their blood, and every time a great warlord rose up to unite them all, they were cast down in ire.

Isinda: Fallen Dagger begins at the very end of the Deimor conquest. The Deimor, a dutiful, militaristic race, had marched out from the Undaro Badlands beneath their king Malum and his sons Unfordive and Seekoras. One by one each race fell before the might of their army, until they had conquered it all. But Isinda refused the unity they provided, and on a field west of the God’s Rift, in Human Territory, a horde of all other races gathered to strike them down. An alliance of roughly one million stood before the grand army of the Deimor which was nearly one-fifth that size. When the dust settled 97 soldiers of various origins remained, all but the Deimor.

The Deimor were hunted down to near extinction and on the black sands of the Undaro their last army was massacred. Days later the remnants of the alliance were broken and the land reverted to its former state. But the legacy of the Deimor had been wrought and most of the kingdoms of Isinda paid for it. Isinda: Fallen Dagger, Isinda: Sting of the Sapphire Blade and Isinda: Curse of the Sleeping Dragon, follow the life of a freed slave; a hybrid born of both Scaldor and Deimor Blood, named Zano. They trail his adventures through mysterious lands and arduous tasks alongside his master and liberator, Tarak Cynery - all of which spark in him a vision of peace which he carries into the service of the powerful Scaldor emperor named Sila.
