Congratulations! If you have followed the steps outlined in “Begin Here”, your manuscript should now be properly formatted and ready to submit. You should have two files to submit. One should be your manuscript in its entirety. The other should be the file containing your backmatter (teaser and author bio). If you do have endorsements that fall within the endorsement guidelines, please include them in your teaser and bio file. Please complete the following steps in order to submit your manuscript to production.

1. The manuscript should be saved as a Microsoft Word file. All manuscripts must be submitted in a format that can be opened and read in Microsoft Word. Acceptable file types are .doc (Microsoft Word 2003 or older) and .rtf (Rich Text File). These are the only two acceptable formats. We cannot accept files saved in Microsoft Word 2007 or Windows Vista (.docx) formats. All Microsoft Word 2007 and Vista programs have the capability to save files as Microsoft Word 2003 documents. Please utilize this capability if you are working with a newer version of Windows. We cannot convert the manuscript for you.

2. All the text of your manuscript must be submitted as one electronic file. We cannot compile the manuscript for you from separate documents.

3. The name of the manuscript file should match the title of the book. Manuscript files named “MY BOOK.doc” or “MANUSCRIPT.doc” are not acceptable. This rule also applies for the book teaser and bio file you send us.

For example, if you have a book entitled A Walk with Jesus, your manuscript file should be named “A Walk with Jesus.doc,” and the book teaser and bio file should be named “A Walk with Jesus Teaser and Bio.doc.”

4. We accept two forms of submission—e-mail or a mailed CD-R sent to Rachael Sweeden’s attention. Her e-mail address is [email protected]. We can only accept CD-Rs. We cannot use manuscripts saved to 3.5-inch floppy disks or zip disks.

Note: Microsoft Word has a feature where you can send a document through e-mail directly from Word. Please do not use this feature. Instead, use your e-mail program to open a new e-mail, attach the manuscript and backmatter files to the e-mail, and send the e-mail to the email address listed above.
