“Missing Andy” is an unusual love story. Author, Lori A. Moore, and her ex-husband, Andy, were best friends. They had a better relationship after their marriage ended than during their marriage. They went places together and always knew they could depend upon each other. Andy died unexpectedly, leaving Lori grief stricken. “Missing Andy” is her journey through grief.

This book is actually about three amazing people: Lori, Andy, and her husband, Michael. Not every man would be receptive to the lasting friendship between his wife and her ex-husband. Not all divorces end with friendship between ex-spouses. Lori demonstrates Christian love throughout her book.

In a nut shell, this is a book about Christian love. I found the message heartwarming. Dealing with grief is another lesson within these pages. Andy was a very blessed man to have had a friend like Lori and vice-versa.

Getting real about grief, April 5, 2010

Author Lori Moore weaves a compelling thread of hope throughout this tribute to her late husband, Andy. This would be an excellent resource for those in the midst of grieving and also for sympathetic family and friends.

A Customer Review from Bill on Amazon.com:

Lori Moore’s book, “From Zero to Christian in Just 35 Years,” is an intimate, warts-and-all account of her journey to faith. One of the criticisms often leveled at “Church folk” is our tendency to wear our shiny happy people masks. That criticism is not entirely inaccurate, which is what makes Moore’s book so refreshing. Her message is that God can heal the most painful wounds and that He is able to rescue us from even our very worst enemy–ourselves.
Women who have struggled with self-esteem issues or who have bought into the lie that their worth comes primarily through their sexuality will find hope in Moore’s story of redemption. And anyone with pre-conceived notions of how “those Christians” talk and act will find a surprise or two. This is not your typical Christian book because Moore has not lived your typical life.

enjoyed this book. Going on a journey with any person is a great privilege, but this journey with Lori was awesome seeeing as this is a spiritual journey.
Going into a place in life where we find the peace we need is always wonderful. Finding that place after 35 years is to be celebrated.
There are many who feel the missing part of them when they don’t grow up with something. Lori knew that her life needed more and when it came she knew exactly what it was.
I could honestly relate to the charm chapter. I have done that often. Searched for charms and it seemed that I couldn’t find anything that related to me. I never got one.
Thank you Lori for sharing your journey with us all.

Christian - Living
Reviewed for ReadersFavorite.com

In From Zero to Christian in Just 35 Years, Lori A. Moore is very candid concerning her life. She was not raised in a Christian home. Her home life was unstable at the least. Her parents did not go to church and felt they were giving their children a choice by not giving them a Christian education. Lori spent years searching for unconditional love. She knew something was missing from her life. She found what was missing in Jesus Christ.

I smiled when I read about her meeting Liz Curtis Higgs, one of my heroes. I can picture MS Higgs walking around the table to give her a hug. It may have taken Moore several years to find Jesus but she is filled with Him now.

I recently met this author at a book faire. I regret that we did not have the opportunity to chat. I admire her ability to express her faith. From Zero to Christian in Just 35 Years is a fast easy read. However, you will want to refer back to it often. There are several questions to ponder and several thought filled prayers. It is easy to recommend this book. It will make a difference in the lives of readers.
