In My Quest to be a Single Dad, Garry White offers a fascinating and heartfelt account of his life challenges to nurture and lead young men born into challenging life circumstances. Dr. White brings a new view of what it means to live and give to children. He details experiences with foster parenting, leading Scouts and youths across the Grand Canyon and dealing with judgement and possible discrimination in his efforts to secure adoption as a single male. The stories he shares highlights important issues for not only parenting, in the broader definition, but also for each of us as we examine the tumbling circumstances of our lives and try to determine our limits to love in an imperfect world. I am grateful to know Garry as a LXA fraternity brother and fellow Grand Canyon hiker. Not only has Garry White blessed many with unselfish friendship and service but he enriches the discussion of love beyond family blood ties..
