About the Author
Ehi Ike is a 14-year old author who has published her first book, Taken Away. Her favorite books in early elementary school were the Junie B. Jones series. One time she wrote a book on paper called The Colorful Fish but stapled it wrong. As she got in higher grades, her teachers started making her write short stories. She loved writing short stories and reading books by Meg Cabot and J.K. Rowling. She knew she wanted to be an author since she was in elementary school. She always wrote stories but never completely finished them because a new idea would come. In 8th grade, she was in American History class and her teacher was talking about the Trail of Tears. The teacher asked the students imagine having someone come to your doorstep and take you away from your home? Ehi immediately thought of a story. She started writing Taken Away when she was 13 years old and in 8th grade. She finished it in about 2 months while going to school. Once she finished it, she decided to send the manuscript to a publishing company without telling her parents at first. Tate Publishing Company accepted her manuscript and started working on it with her. Now, at age 14, her book is published. She plans to write a sequel to Taken Away and many others in the future.
